WhoNu? Now, I do!!!

I have seen the commercials for WhoNu? Cookies...I didn't pay much attention, because I figured that if we are going to have a special snack or dessert...may as well forget nutrition...but, when I saw these on sale yesterday, we picked some up.  Suprisingly, they were just as delicious if not more so, then an actual Oreo cookie! They were $2.50 for a package, comparable to Oreos.  They are in a sealed package inside of a reclosable box.  The inner package has a tear off stip that seals back with a sticky strip to keep cookies fresh.

3 cookies claim to have:

As much Fiber as a bowl of oatmeal
As much Calcium & Vitamin D as an 8oz glass of milk
As much Vitamin C as a cup of blueberries
As much Iron as a cup of spinach
As much Vitamin E as 2 cups of carrot juice
As much Vitamin B12 as a cup of cottage cheese with fruit
As much Vitamin A as 8oz glass of tomato juice


As you can see, this cookie is enhanced with
vitamins and minerals, but is in no way a low-calorie
food.  Nor should it be considered a "diet" food.
It is however, healhtier than regular packaged cookies,
therefore, I WILL purchase these again, the next time
I want to treat the kids to a special treat!



My Juicing Experience

I have been wanting a juicer ever since reading Matt Terry's blog.  I started researching them...my friend, April got one and showed me hers..the grapefruit juice was sooo yummy!  I just had to have one!  We bought a Jack La Lanne Juicer and it worked great...the kids loved the juice and immediately started requesting favorites!  That made me sooo happy :)

So far, they love apple juice, orange juice, strawberry-pear, and really anything with fruit in it...we mix alot of flavors together, so yummy!

We even poured the strawberry juice in Popsicle trays!

We only had our juicer for 4 days...we kept wishing we weren't throwing out ALL THAT PULP!!!  I know there are recipes to use it, but since we mix fruits, it wasn't usable.  I couldn't stand it...a whole fruit goes in, a quarter cup of juice comes out and the rest goes down the disposal...I started researching again and found Montel Williams blender/juicer.  It emulsifies the entire fruit and vegetable using everything!  I wanted it, but with a $200+ price tag, I just couldn't do it.  I found the perfect machine for us...It is the...

This machine has the same 1100 watt motor as the Health master. It pulverizes whole fruits and vegetables, ice, and anything you want to within moments!  It came with a regular container and a huge 72oz pitcher/bowl.  You can mix bread dough (can't wait to mix up some whole wheat pizza crust!), use it as a mixer for baking and whipping, juicing, blender for smoothies and frozen drinks, soups, chopping/food processing (yay for my salsa!) and even real ice cream within 2 minutes!!  I have used this since Monday and absolutely LOVE it!!  The kids do too!

This appliance will replace several of my others and with a price tag of only $25 more than my juicer...it will definitely save me MONEY by using ALL my fruits and veggies!  Check this system out if you are thinking about juicing!

Miracle for the Skin

My doctor recommended Aquaphor.  It is made by Eucerin and since I had a huge tub of cream already, I just decided to use what I already have...As it turns out, it really DOES need to be Aquaphor...my daughter has had a rash on her chin off and on for 6 months...she is allergic to sunscreen I think, but anyways, any time a skin issue is brought to my doctor's attention, she ALWAYS tells me to buy Aquaphor!!  Well, the last time we had to visit her, I ran to Walgreen's right after the appointment and bought a tube of the name brand Aquaphor...I was frustrated and felt ridiculous spending $6 bucks on a little tube of salve since I have 5 others at home...Thank goodness I did!! 

 It has proven to be a miracle skin ointment around my home...diaper rash, sunburn, bug bites, rashes, itchy bumps, dry skin, even scrapes/minor cuts heal almost immediately!    My elbows have NEVER been so soft!  When you apply it to irritated chafing, it immediately makes it feel better...it was the best money spent...and it has lasted so long b/c it only takes a tiny bit!!  Next time you need skin help, give this a try :)

Mango Peach Salsa from Costco

This salsa from Costco is awesome on pork and chicken.  It is aslso yummy with tortilla chips.  It is so much cheaper to buy it already prepared, because the fresh mangos and other produce adds up right now.  It is all natural with no preservatives.  If you have a Costco near you, give this salsa a try!

HURRY over to Michaels Craft Store to get your little one some adorable flip flops for only $1.99 !!!  They are in the shape of a foot and come in tons of different colors!

They come with or without the back strap...too cute!

DIY project- yard sale bird feeder

A couple of years ago, I found this neat metal bird feeder at a yard sale for 50cents! It was all rusty, but I could see potential.  I hadn't gotten around to hanging it, because we don't even feed birds, but this winter, my son had a school project to hand a hand-made bird feeder.  The two kids and I have absolutely loved feeding and getting to watch the birds, so I took on the yard-sale bird feeder project!

I was super easy.  I took it apart and painted it with Rustoleum Hammered Enamel spraypaint. (I spray tons of item with this wonderful product!)  It was so quick and literally looks like new!  In the picture, it had just gotten rained on and may look bumpy from water drops, but it is smooth and like new!  I love it and so do the kids!

Costco finds

Loving HORIZONS half and half Organic creamer at Costco for my morning coffee!!!  It was only $2.99 for a half gallon!!! 
Can't beat that!

"Always" trying to find a good one...

I feel weird posting about this, BUT all of us ladies need to know this...I found an awesome feminine product!  Have you tried Always Infinity pads ?  They are amazing!  They do not save you money, but they are worth the extra for the comfort.  I am not getting paid for this advertisement, but I should, because I've told lots of people about these.  They are so thin and they are meant for "heavy" flow.  They feel like they are made out of tempurpedic foam...anyways, give them a try, you won't want any other!
